King Pond is a good place to visit for more than one day, Spring Hill Park is a good place to camp nearby, and do take some time to pop by Big Woods while you're here. King Pond regularly gets a lot of rain; during the month of May you get the most rain around here; the driest of the months is September. This lake is so wonderful. Whitewater paddling is good on Haw River, and the friendly people of Durham like to hang out       nearby. A nice nearby hotel is Carolina Inn. This place is so good, just check out all the exciting things to do near King Pond. If you need a place to stay The Franklin Hotel is a tremendous choice, and getting to Ward Branch from King Pond is uncomplicated. You'll need more than a day to look at everything King Pond has to offer, you can camp at Jordan Dam RV Park and Campground, and while you're here you can play some golf at The Preserve at Jordon Lake                  Golf Club. High temperatures at King Pond through the warm months are in the 80's. Through the moonlight hours it's mostly in the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at King Pond are in the 20's.
