Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Upper Little River. Lakes are great; Lake Benson is a lake that's near Julians Lake. At Julians Lake Dam in close proximity to Julians Lake there are some attention-grabbing things to see; why not take a little trip to Ditch Branch while you're here. Going for
a hike on the East Loop Horse Trail is always a good adventure; Sleep Inn Garner is a glorious spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. There's whitewater on Cape Fear for all you adrenaline junkies, and you'll almost certainly
meet some people from Raleigh-Cary here. Throughout the summer here at Julians Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. Summer overnight lows fall down to the 60's. During the wintertime highs are usually in the 40's while Julians Lake nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's.

Guys Pond
 | Guy's Pond is a great place to fish. As of my latest fishing trip on 1/25/2009, it was $3 per person and $4 per night camping. Also, 14 years of age and younger were free! This is a great pond. While you are fishing, you can watch the cows, and/or the horses. The pond is much better than Pope's Lake. They kicked us out of that lake on the same day as my trip to Guy's Pond. I rate this pond as a 10 and suggest anyone in the area looking for a fishing hole should try Guy's Pond.... |

Beaverdam Lake

Beaverdam Lake is really a part of Falls Lake. It is approximately fifteen minutes north of the I-540 beltway on Highway 50. Beaverdam Lake is separated from the main lake by a partial dam and bridge. It is approximately 500 acres in size.
Beaverdam Lake is restricted; no gasoline engines are allowed. This makes it a great place for kayaks, canoes, sailboats and electric-motor propelled boats. It has a very nice concrete boat ramp and adjacent dock, and has a very large parking lot. Adjacent to the boat launching ramp is a nice sand beach with floats delineating the swimming area and a small pavilion.
