This lake is so wonderful. Johnsons Pond gets a normal amount of precipitation; through August this area sees the most rain, and the driest month is April. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Little Creek Loop Trail is always a great adventure; not far from Johnsons Pond you'll hit upon Pearson Pond which is a charming lake. A magnificent nearby hotel is Comfort Inn Fuquay-Varina, and if you come at the       right time of year, Cape Fear offers some nice whitewater. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Johnsons Pond with night lows in the 60's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's; night lows through the winter for Johnsons Pond tend to be in the 20's. The Group Camp Trail is a pleasant hiking trail near Johnsons Pond, and you'll meet a lot of people from Dunn here. So many cool things right next door to Johnsons Pond, simply tremendous. If you need a place                  to stay Holiday Inn Express Fuquay-Varina, Nc is a good choice, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Buckhorn Creek. Do go to Slaughter Pond Dam since you're here at Johnsons Pond; camping is available at Camptown RV.
