Jenkins Pond is a nice lake to visit. Why not visit Shephard Lake Dam since you're here, and if you've had enough of Jenkins Pond, Capples Pond is nearby. You'll meet a lot of folks from Rockingham here; if you need a place to stay Regal Inn is a pleasant choice. Jenkins Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Long Leaf Pines Oasis is a great local campground, and a splendid nearby hotel is Comfort Suites Rockingham.
