Sky Valley is a very popular ski area close at hand. All year is a brilliant time in the Blue Ridge Mountains if you have a thing about the outdoors. A magnificent place to camp here at Hurricane Lake is Singing waters Camping Resort, and going for a hike on the Shortoff Mountain Trail is always a great adventure.

| | The high level of rain makes Hurricane Lake a pretty wet spot; the month with most of the rain is March; October is when it's the driest. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Hurricane Lake. some great whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Ammons Branch Campground, naturally you could also have a look at Whiteside Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Hurricane Lake is located in the Blue
Ridge Mountains. So many fun things to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, too great to be true. Getting to Laurel Branch from Hurricane Lake is simple; Hurricane Lake is not the only site close by, Richard Wood Upper Lake is a
close by lake. Near Hurricane Lake you stumble on the Whiteside Mountain National Recreation Trail which is a glorious hiking trail; the peak of Henderson Mountain can be made out from Hurricane Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
High Hampton Inn & Country Club is a golf course near Hurricane Lake, and after a long day outdoors Old Edwards Inn and Spa is a nice location to spend a night or two. Through the summer months highs here at Hurricane Lake get into
the 80's. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and nighttime lows during the wintertime for Hurricane Lake tend to be in the 20's. There
are some magnificent whitewater spots on Chattooga River, and not far from Hurricane Lake you acquire some great water scenery at Richard Wood Upper Dam.
