Humphrey's Ridge Camp is a splendid local campground, needless to say you could also have a look at Upper Merchants Lake if you're here; it's not far at all. Honkers Hollow Lake is not the only site nearby, Pope Lake is a nearby lake;
Dan River Campground is a great campground nearby.
Honkers Hollow Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; July is when you get the most rain here; the driest month of the year is February.
