Whitewater paddling is nice on Neuse River; a fine close by hotel is Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites RALEIGH NORTH - WAKE FOREST. There's so much to do here at Holdings Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Champion Cheerleading Camps is a splendid place for that. This lake is so wonderful. After a long day outdoors Sleep Inn Wake Forest is a great location to spend a night or two; Holdings Pond is not far at all from Raleigh-Cary. Lakes are such calm places,

Beaverdam Lake
 | Beaverdam Lake is really a part of Falls Lake. It is approximately fifteen minutes north of the I-540 beltway on Highway 50. Beaverdam Lake is separated from the main lake by a partial dam and bridge. It is approximately 500 acres in size.
Beaverdam Lake is restricted; no gasoline engines are allowed. This makes it a great place for kayaks, canoes, sailboats and electric-motor propelled boats. It has a very nice concrete boat ramp and adjacent dock, and has a very large parking lot.
