Not far from Hogback Lake, you'll stumble on Intermont Lake which is a picturesque lake, and a round of golf at nearby Red Bird Golf Links is a wonderful way to kill some time. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Hogback Lake. During the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's, and during the dark       hours in the wintertime at Hogback Lake temperatures dip to the 20's. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more enjoyable stuff to do here at Hogback Lake. Hogback Lake is pleasant enough to spend more than a day at, Panther Ridge RV Park and Community is a pleasant local campground; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit nearby Sapphire Lake. That right there is a lot of enjoyable things already but it goes on, the                  Blue Ridge Mountains has it all. Don't forget to take a nice little tour to Burlingame Creek, and the great people of Brevard like to hang out nearby. Don't try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a wonderful time here at Hogback Lake. A good nearby hotel is Sapphire Valley Resort, and at Hogback Dam in the neighborhood of Hogback Lake there are some exciting things to see. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Be careful coming to the Blue Ridge Mountains, you might not ever want to go back home again. Boneyard Gap is a brilliant site to look at; a nice sight of striking Bald Rock Mountain is available. This lake is so wonderful. There's good hiking along the Foothills Trail, and after a long day outdoors Old Edwards Inn and Spa is a great site to spend a night or two. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Hogback Lake; Whiteside Mountain National Recreation Trail is a tremendous local trail, and whitewater paddling is delightful on Toxaway River - Upper. Hogback Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; through the month of March you get the most rain around here; October is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful.
