     The beauty of Highlands Lake attracts many people from all around. There's glorious hiking along the Three Forks Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Highlands Lake has to offer, you can camp at Vanhook Glade Campground. Much rainfall falls at Highlands Lake; during March this area sees the most rain, and October is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always stop at close  
   by Cliffside Lake, and you can stay the night at Van Hook Glade Campground.
Whohoo, so many entertaining things in one place! Highlands Lake is so good!. Don't leave Highlands Lake without first going for a hike along the Shortoff Mountain Trail; why not head up to Scaly Mountain and strap some skis to your feet. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.

               to be true. Big Creek is a brilliant local stream, and if you need a site to stay The Inn at Half Mile Farm is a fine choice. And if you're still looking for more outdoors enjoyable things just keep reading. Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Cullasaja River, and a splendid close by hotel is Old Edwards Inn and Spa. Through the summertime months here at Highlands Lake, high temperatures ordinarily get into the 80's; the overnight is somewhat cooler of course, commonly in the 60's. Throughout the wintertime highs are ordinarily in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Highlands Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Highlands Lake; Whiteside Mountain National Recreation Trail is a delightful local trail, and the summit of Big Dog Mountain can be distinguished from Highlands Lake. Sequoyah Dam is worth checking out while you're here, and do put some time aside to spend at Bridal Veil Falls since you're here at Highlands Lake. Man, is there a heap of amusing stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The snow is great at Sky Valley, and for you golfers we recommend nearby Highlands Falls Country Club Pool & Tennis.
