There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. While you're here at High Lake you can take a hike along the Yancey Ridge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A good site near High Lake is Indian Grave Gap, and whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Yadkin River. So much cool stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not enough time. High Lake is       glorious enough to spend more than a day at, Green Mountain Park Resort is a glorious local campground, and you'll possibly meet some people from Hickory-Morganton-Lenoir here. Camping at Pine Mountain Campground is always a perfect experience, and a great close by hotel is Comfort Inn Lenoir. High Lake is a beautiful lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lots of rainfall falls at High Lake; the month with most of the rain is June; the driest of the months is December.                  High Lake Dam is a location that is next to High Lake, and there's whitewater on Elk Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers. If you want a great time in the great outdoors, just come on down to High Lake. Lenoir Golf Club is a glorious golf course nearby, and Red Carpet Inn Lenoir is a perfect place to get some rest. For the period of the warmest time of the year at High Lake highs are typically in the 60's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's.
