Green Mountain Park Resort is a glorious campground nearby, and if you're interested in hydro structures, you can take a look at High Lake Dam. This lake is so wonderful. Near High Lake you discover the Yancey Ridge Trail which is a good hiking trail. Lakes? Sure, A A Rauchfuss Lake is in the neighborhood, and a great spot to take       a look at is Indian Grave Gap. So many amusing things to do here at High Lake, too great to be true. Comfort Inn Lenoir is a pleasant place to get some rest, and get your heart pumping on the great whitewater of Elk Creek. This lake is so wonderful. Not far from High Lake, you'll come across Lenoir Water Supply Lake which is a delightful lake; a round of golf at nearby Lenoir Golf Club is a brilliant way to kill some time. For the duration of the warm months                  here at High Lake, high temperatures typically reach the 60's, and during the night it cools down to the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at High Lake are in the 10's. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains.
