Why not stop by Heart Lake if you're passing through these parts. Heart Lake is one of the lakes here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. Ridgeway Inn is a nice site to get some rest, and this is a popular site for folks from Boone. All year is a tremendous time in the Blue Ridge Mountains if you like the outdoors.
At Heart Lake you can catch a glimpse of Flat Top Mountain, also Heart Lake Dam is worth taking a look at while you're here.

| | This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Camp Sky Ranch is always a perfect experience, and you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Hawksnest if you're here. So many enjoyable things to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, too tremendous to be true. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Thunderhole Creek, and while you're here, you might as well check out Sandy Flat Gap.

Ridge Trail; whitewater paddling is great on Boone Fork. Enjoy a round of golf at Boone Golf Club not far from Heart Lake, and after a long day outdoors Blowing Rock Victorian Inn B&B is a delightful location to spend a night or two.
And if that's not enough, there's a lot more to do close to Heart Lake. Not far from Heart Lake, you'll hit upon Cone Lake which is a delightful lake; you can never get enough of the tremendous skiing at Appalachian Mountain.
Man, is there a load of amusing stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are other locations here than Heart Lake, for example Bass Lake, and there are wonderful places to look at along the Daniel Boone Scout Trail. Lots of
rain falls at Heart Lake; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and December is when it's the driest. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to Heart Lake. During the moonlight hours it's regularly
in the 50's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's while Heart Lake night low temperatures all through the winter are in the 10's.
If only every place had this much outdoors enjoyable things, what a great planet it would be.
It's a splendid idea to go to Flat Top Branch, it's close to Heart Lake, and a tremendous place to camp here at Heart Lake is Honey Bear Campground.
