It's always fun to stop by Heart Lake. Camping is available at Morgan's Mountain Retreat, and a glorious spot for whitewater paddling is Boone Fork. All the water falling down from the sky makes Heart Lake a wet spot; May is when you get the most rain here while December is frequently the driest month. Playing golf is lots of fun at Boone Golf Club, and if you came for an overnight stay Appalachian Campground is a good location to camp. People from Boone love to come to Heart Lake; Hawksnest has glorious slopes and a friendly staff. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Be careful coming to Heart Lake, you might not ever want to go back home again.
Sandy Flat Gap is a delightful place to stop by close by, and Heart Lake Dam has perfect water scenery. This lake is so wonderful. It's a great idea to stop at Flat Top Branch, it's in the vicinity of Heart Lake, and don't leave Heart
Lake without first going for a hike along the Daniel Boone Scout Trail.
Throughout the warm days of summer at Heart Lake highs are usually in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's commonly in the 50's. For the duration
of the winter highs are in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Heart Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Azalea Inn, and from Heart Lake you get a great sight of Flat Top Mountain. If
you want a good time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Heart Lake. Appalachian Mountain is a very popular ski area close at hand.
