This lake is so wonderful. If you need a location to stay Holiday Inn Express FOREST CITY is a great choice, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Island Creek. Hayes Lake is a relatively wet place usually with a large amount of precipitation; March is when you get the most rain here, and January is the month with the least moisture. Hayes Lake is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Foothills Family       Campground is a perfect local campground, and Hayes Lake is not far at all from Forest City. Camping at Whispering Ridge Campground is always a nice experience, and there are some good whitewater spots on Broad River. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff at Hayes Lake. An afternoon playing golf at Dogwood Valley Golf Course is always a pleasure. Throughout the summertime highs here at Hayes Lake reach the 80's; the nighttime is somewhat                  colder of course, frequently in the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's with temperatures at Hayes Lake dipping down into the 20's during winter nights.
