Dogwood Valley Golf Course is a great golf course close by, and not far from Hayes Lake you'll hit upon Cudds Creek Pond which is a pretty lake. During the warm months at Hayes Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. High temperatures all through the winter are normally in the 40's while the cold       winter nights at Hayes Lake are in the 20's. Hayes Lake typically gets a large amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most rain; the driest month of the year is January. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Hayes Lake has to offer, you can camp at Foothills Family Campground. Paddling on Island Creek is so much fun, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn Forest City is a tremendous spot to spend a night                  or two. Get wet paddling on Broad River; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always go to close by Jolleys Lake. Lots of people from Forest City come to Hayes Lake, and some of the water nearby flows, like Dills Creek. If you want a glorious time in the great outdoors, just come on down to Hayes Lake.
