If the weather is beautiful, you get a good panorama of Stott Knob from Hawks Lake; paddling on Fisher River is so much fun. This lake is so wonderful. For the period of the warm days of summer highs here at Hawks Lake get into the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights       at Hawks Lake are in the 20's. Now, you may feel that's loads but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Hawks Lake. Camping at Hawks Lake is good fun, Holly Ridge Family Campground is a good local campground; after a long day outdoors Best Western Bryson Inn is a good place to spend a night or two. Hawks Lake is a perfect location to camp, Pioneer Village Family Campground is a perfect location; don't forget to take a good little tour to Jackson                  Creek. Lots of people from Mount Airy come to Hawks Lake, and Hawks Lake Dam is a pretty site, positively worth checking out. This lake is so wonderful. The Run Trail is a nice hiking trail next to Hawks Lake, and playing golf is lots of fun at Beaver Creek Golf Course. Hawks Lake is a wet place that gets much precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain; the driest of the months is January.
