The high level of rainfall makes Hawkins Lake a reasonably wet spot; March is the month that gets the most rain; the driest of the months is October. The Blue Ridge Mountains scenery is always beautiful. A lake close by is Mother Earth Upper, and the Black Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Brevard, Nc is a wonderful choice;       Ballard Gap is another tremendous place to stop at close by. Any time is a tremendous time at Hawkins Lake if you love the outdoors. Looking for a glorious tour? Blue Ridge Parkway is reasonably in close proximity to Hawkins Lake, and some nearby water includes Betty Branch. This place is peerless, just check out all the enjoyable things to do near Hawkins Lake. At Mother Earth Lower Dam right next door to Hawkins Lake there are some out of the ordinary things                  to see, and near Hawkins Lake you find a golf course called Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club. Hawkins Lake is not the only site close by, Banks Lake is a close by lake; tremendous hiking is available along the Mullinax Trail. You can never get enough of the great skiing at Ski Beech, and a great nearby hotel is Rodeway Inn Brevard. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is gorgeous, you get a great view of Fodderstack Mountain from Hawkins Lake; this is a popular site for people from Brevard. Man, is there a heap of fun stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hawkins Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Little River Camping Resort is a great local campground, and there's nice hiking along the Laurel Mountain Trail. All year is a glorious time in the Blue Ridge Mountains if you like the outdoors. For the period of the warmest time of the year, highs mostly are in the 80's at Hawkins Lake with night lows in the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down all through the wintertime temperatures at Hawkins Lake descend into the 20's. So much entertaining stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains, too nice to be true.
