This lake is so wonderful. Mountain Laurel Resort is a great campground nearby, and Pierce Lake is a nice lake nearby. If you came for an overnight stay Little River Camping Resort is a glorious place to camp; the peak of Fodderstack Mountain can be spotted from Hawkins Lake. Take a hike on the Mullinax Trail, and lakes are such peaceful places, why not explore Cascade Lake. There's       just no way somebody can get bored here at Hawkins Lake. Take a little tour to Betty Branch since you're here at Hawkins Lake, and the scenery at Mother Earth Lower Dam is stunning. There's no way somebody can get bored here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. What would winter be without some skiing at Ski Beech, and if you're a golfer then a great nearby course is Cummings Cove Golf & Country Club. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a place to stay Rodeway Inn                  Brevard is a splendid choice, and hiking along the Laurel Mountain Trail is splendid fun. Any time is a glorious time at Hawkins Lake if you go for the outdoors. If you don’t have a problem getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Little River, and the wonderful folks of Brevard like to hang out close by. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. During the summer months at Hawkins Lake temperatures are frequently in the 80's while nighttime lows are ordinarily in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while Hawkins Lake night low temperatures throughout the wintertime are in the 20's. Ballard Gap is a perfect site to pop by close by, and going for a hike along the Black Mountain Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff truly is plentiful here in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
