Since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always visit close by Mirror Lake, and Harris Lake is not far at all from Seneca. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. Whohoo, so many cool things in one place! The Blue Ridge Mountains is excellent! A glorious sight of wonderful Bearpen Mountain is available from Harris Lake; hiking is a popular thing to do around Harris Lake; Three Forks Trail is a pleasant       local trail. Harris Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the wettest month of the year is generally March, that's the one that rains the most; October on the other hand is the driest. Old Edwards Inn and Spa is a tremendous place to get some rest; unsurprisingly, this is a glorious neighborhood for folks who like lakes, Ravenel Lake is a lake in the vicinity. There's so much to do here at Harris Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Van Hook Glade Campground                  is a good site for that, and don't leave Harris Lake without first paying a visit to Highlands Falls. This lake is so wonderful. Now, you may imagine that's a load but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Sunset Rock is a fine spot to stop at while in the region, and after a long day outdoors Hampton Inn Highlands NC is a fine site to spend a night or two. Now, you may assume that's a lot but there's even more exciting stuff to do here at Harris Lake. A quick journey to Ammons Branch in close proximity to Harris Lake is a splendid idea, and Mirror Lake Dam is a wonderful place. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. Harris Lake is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Blue Valley Campground is a fine local campground; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of close by Scaly Mountain. If you wish for a little side visit, try Rich Gap, and do take a hike on the Ellicott Rock Trail. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors entertaining stuff the Blue Ridge Mountains has to offer. Whitewater paddling is good on Cullasaja River, and the snow is wonderful at Sky Valley. For the period of the days of summer here at Harris Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Harris Lake temperatures sink to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful.
