This lake is so wonderful. Comfort Suites Winston-Salem is a glorious location to get some rest, and there's some flowing water nearby, Bill Branch is a stream you can stop at while you're here. Hanes Lake is a wet place that gets much rainfall; the month of March is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month of the year is November. In case you don’t have a problem getting wet, you can always go       whitewater paddling on Big Creek, and you can have a perfect hiking adventure along the Cascade Trail. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Hanes Lake you can play some golf at Grandview Golf Club; the wonderful people of Winston-Salem like to hang out nearby. Hanes Lake Dam is an out of the ordinary thing to check out, and after a long day outdoors Courtyard By Marriott Hanes Mall is a good spot to spend a night or two. And that's not all you                  can do here at Hanes Lake. Yadkin River is a nice whitewater spot in close proximity to Hanes Lake, and if you've had enough of Hanes Lake, Fowler Lake Number One is close by. Hiking along the Moores Knob Trail is magnificent fun, and you can stay the night at Tanglewood Family Resort. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Hanes Lake has to offer, you can camp at Pioneer Village Family Campground, and Hanes Lake is right by the Cooks Wall Trail. All through the summer at Hanes Lake highs are typically in the 80's, and the nighttime is rather cooler of course, usually in the 60's.
