If you came for an overnight stay Steele Creek Marina is a delightful place to camp. Comfort Inn & Suites Oxford is a glorious site to get some rest; drift down the rapids of Tar River in a kayak. And that's not all you can do here at Hancock Lake. If you need a place to stay Econo Lodge & Suites is a splendid choice, and get drenched       paddling on Little Fishing Creek. This lake is so wonderful. A lake nearby is Joe Hamme Sr Lake; while you're here, you could take a look at Jordan Creek. All the water falling down from the sky makes Hancock Lake a wet place; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and the driest month is April. Hancock Lake is not the only spot close by, Lake Devin is a close by lake, and the good people of Henderson like to hang out close by.                  All through the warm months at Hancock Lake highs are generally in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's.
