During the warmest time of the year at Gusher Knob Lake highs are generally in the 80's with overnight lows in the 60's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's; winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Gusher Knob Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Beech Mountain Inns; if you're a golfer then a splendid nearby course is Grassy Creek Golf & Country Club.

paddling is fine on Catawba River - North Fork, and a day on the slopes of Hawksnest is just what you need.
This lake is so wonderful. Nearby Buck Hill Gap is a pleasant place to go if you're at Gusher Knob Lake, and in the event
that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on North Toe River. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Gusher Knob Lake. Upper Bend is something you shouldn't miss while you're here at
Gusher Knob Lake, and the sight of beautiful Buck Hill is great. Best Western Mountain Lodge At Banner Elk is a great spot to get some rest. Lakes? Sure, Spruce Pine Reservoir is close by.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the
Blue Ridge Mountains. Camping is available at Buckhill Campground; you can take a little journey to Gusher Knob Dam since you're here at Gusher Knob Lake. Gusher Knob Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the month with most of the
rain is July; October is when it's the driest. There is a magnificent hiking trail in the neighborhood of Gusher Knob Lake called the Laurel Fork Trail; the snow is great at Appalachian Mountain.
