The beauty of Griffin Lake attracts many people from all around. A good close by hotel is Sleep Inn Hickory. There's so much to do here at Griffin Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Pine Mountain Campground is a glorious place for that. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Griffin Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lake Hickory RV Resort; after a long day outdoors Comfort Suites Hickory is a splendid location to spend a night or two.

| | Griffin Lake gets a lot of water; the wettest month of the year is commonly July, that's the one that rains the most; January on the other hand is the driest. If you go for the outdoors, you'll like Griffin Lake. James Lake is a great lake near Griffin Lake, and whitewater paddling is tremendous on Catawba River - South Fork. There are plenty of folks from Hickory-Morganton-Lenoir here at Griffin Lake, and Griffin Dam is not far at all from Griffin Lake.

lake is so wonderful. There's some flowing water nearby, Barger Branch is a stream you can stop at while here, and golf can be played at Henry River Golf Club. High temperatures at Griffin Lake through the long summer days are in
the 80's, and the night is a little colder of course, generally in the 60's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's, and night lows at Griffin Lake during the wintertime mostly fall into the 20's.
