Why not take a refreshing hike along the West Loop Horse Trail, and Grey Pond is not the only place nearby, Continental Can Company Lake is a nearby lake. Grey Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Dream Camps is a great local campground, and a lake close by is Apex Lake. Grey Pond is a wet location that gets a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is frequently May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is

This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Grey Pond you can play some golf at Lochmere Golf Club, and a magnificent location to camp here at Grey Pond is Champion Cheerleading Camps. Buckhorn Creek. At Grey Pond during the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 60's. Daytime highs all through the wintertime are in the 40's with winter lows in the
20's overnight here at Grey Pond.
There are some great whitewater spots on Haw River, and hiking along the Little Creek Loop Trail is delightful fun. This lake is so wonderful. Grey Pond Dam is worth checking out if you're here, and Grey Pond is not far at all from Durham.

Guys Pond

Guy's Pond is a great place to fish. As of my latest fishing trip on 1/25/2009, it was $3 per person and $4 per night camping. Also, 14 years of age and younger were free! This is a great pond. While you are fishing, you can watch the cows, and/or the horses. The pond is much better than Pope's Lake. They kicked us out of that lake on the same day as my trip to Guy's Pond. I rate this pond as a 10 and suggest anyone in the area looking for a fishing hole should try Guy's Pond.... |
