The high level of precipitation makes Greenhill Lake a quite wet place; most of the rain falls through May, and January is the month with the least moisture. Greenhill Lake is a beautiful lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. For the duration of the warm months highs here at Greenhill Lake get into the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. The winter brings highs down to the 40's while the cold winter       nights at Greenhill Lake are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. If you're here at Greenhill Lake and you like golf, you can take a look at Skyland Lakes Golf Club, and camping at Greenhill Lake is glorious fun, Utt's Campground is a glorious local campground. School House Creek is a beautiful stream that is worth visiting, and float down the rapids of Ararat River in a kayak. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this spot. After a long day outdoors Star Lite                  Motel is a fine place to spend a night or two, and don't leave Greenhill Lake without first going for a hike along the Run Trail. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Big Reed Island Creek; you'll come across a beautiful lake called City Lake. Man, is there a lot of fun things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Here at Greenhill Lake you'll probably meet some people from Mount Airy, and Greenhill Lake is a splendid place to camp, Fox Trail Campground is a splendid place.
