There's wonderful hiking along the History Trail, and camping at Wrightsville Village is always a delightful experience. This lake is so wonderful. A fine close by hotel is Clarendon Inn, and Peter Point is quite close. High temperatures at Greenfield Lake during the summertime months are in the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down       into the 60's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 50's with temperatures at Greenfield Lake dipping down into the 30's during winter nights. Greenfield Lake commonly gets a good deal of rainfall; most of the rain falls all through July, and the driest of the months is October. Alligator Creek is a lovely stream that is worth visiting, and you don’t have to go far from Greenfield Lake to make out the water at Greenfield Lake Dam.                  The Tarheel Trail offers hiking at its best; Greenfield Lake is not far at all from Wilmington. A brilliant place to camp here at Greenfield Lake is Carolina Beach Campground, and right next door to Greenfield Lake you come across a golf course called Castle Bay Golf Course.
