For the duration of the summertime at Great Lake temperatures are regularly in the 80's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 70's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 50's, and through the dark hours in the wintertime at Great Lake temperatures drop to the 30's. Camping is available at       Paul's Park and Boat Ramp, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Long Lake. Quality Inn Havelock is a nice spot to get some rest, and hiking along the Neusiok Trail is brilliant fun. Lakes are good; Lake Ellis Simon is a lake that's next to Great Lake; there are plenty of people from New Bern here. This lake is so wonderful.
