Sure, Grandfather Mountain Lake is just a very short distance away. Grandmother Lake is a beautiful lake in the Blue Ridge Mountains. that you need to camp here for a while, Jim and Jennie's Music Barn and Campground is a magnificent site for that; you can have a great hiking adventure along the Daniel Boone Scout Trail. Now, you may feel that's loads but there's
even more exciting stuff to do here at Grandmother Lake. Mountain Glen Golf Club is a great golf course close by, and since you're here you can take a hike along the Yancey Ridge Trail. This lake is so wonderful. There are some good
whitewater spots on Lost Cove Creek; while you're here why not explore Deep Gap. Man, is there a heap of amusing stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hawksnest is a very popular ski area in close proximity, and some of the
water nearby flows, like Big Grassy Creek. Very perfect water scenery is available at Grandmother Dam near Grandmother Lake, and there's whitewater on North Harper Creek for all you adrenaline junkies. Not sufficient hours in a day
to enjoy this site. Beech Mountain Inns is a tremendous place to get some rest. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Grandmother Lake has to offer, you can camp at Grandfather Campground and Cabins. From Grandmother
Lake you obtain a perfect vista of Beacon Heights; on a wonderful day you can take a hike along the Laurel Fork Trail.
