Camping at Champion Cheerleading Camps is always a great experience; if you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Dunn. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Buckhorn Creek in the vicinity of Evans Pond, and there are other locations here than Evans Pond, for example Adcock Pond. Evans       Pond mostly gets lots of rain; through May this area sees the most rain while September is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Throughout the summertime at Evans Pond temperatures are generally in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures sink down into the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's; through the dark hours in the winter at Evans Pond temperatures descend to the 20's. A golf course close to Evans                  Pond is Hidden Valley Golf Course, and the West Loop Horse Trail is a good hiking trail close by. Having a good time at Evans Pond is simple. Lakes are such calm places, why not stop at Akins Pond Number Two close to Evans Pond, and going for a hike on the Little Creek Loop Trail is always a glorious adventure. This lake is so wonderful. A tremendous site for whitewater paddling in close proximity to Evans Pond is Cape Fear; close by you hit upon the East Loop Horse Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail.
