If you like lakes and you're in this part of North Carolina you can check out Evans Pond. All the water falling down from the sky makes Evans Pond a wet place; of all the months in a year May is the one with the most rain, and the driest month of the year is September. Whitewater paddling is brilliant on Cape Fear, and after a long day outdoors Holiday Inn Express Fuquay-Varina, Nc is a great spot to spend a night or two. At Evans Pond all through the warm
days of summer highs are in the 80's with night lows in the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Evans Pond dip into the 20's.
In the event that you don't mind getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Buckhorn Creek, and if you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn Apex is a pleasant choice. Yeah, come here to Evans Pond for a great time. The East Loop Horse

Trail offers hiking at its best, and Evans Pond Dam is beautiful. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Little Creek Loop Trail, and you're most likely hooked on lakes, Adcock Pond is one of those nearby.
This lake is so wonderful. There's good hiking along the West Loop Horse Trail, and why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Hidden Valley Golf Course. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Champion Cheerleading Camps, and Evans Pond is a brilliant spot to visit for more than one day, Dream Camps is a brilliant spot to camp nearby. Lakes are good; Akins Pond Number Two is a lake that's in the neighborhood of Evans Pond, and lots of folks from Dunn come here.

Guys Pond
12 miles away
Guy's Pond is a great place to fish.  As of my latest fishing trip on 1/25/2009, it was $3 per person and $4 per night camping.  Also, 14 years of age and younger were free!  This is a great pond.  While you are fishing, you can watch the cows, and/or the horses.  The pond is much better than Pope's Lake.  They kicked us out of that lake on the same day as my trip to Guy's Pond.  I rate this pond as a 10 and suggest anyone in the area looking for a fishing hole should try Guy's Pond....
