The Laurel Mountain Trail offers hiking at its best. Man, is there lots of fun stuff to do near Enka Lake. There's delightful hiking along the Side Hill Trail; Wolf Laurel is a very popular ski area close at hand. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Enka Lake; Shut-In Trail is a wonderful local trail, and in the event that you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always       go whitewater paddling on Pigeon River - Big East Fork. Through the days of summer highs here at Enka Lake reach the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's. Highs through the wintertime are ordinarily in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the wintertime temperatures at Enka Lake plunge into the 20's. Enka Lake gets much water; July is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month is October. This lake is so wonderful. A good                  nearby hotel is Comfort Inn West, and French Broad River is a fine whitewater spot nearby. If you haven’t been to Blue Ridge Parkway, you have to schedule some time for it while you're here. There's so much to do here at Enka Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Lake Powhatan Campground is a magnificent place for that. This lake is so wonderful. This is a popular location for folks from Asheville, and the peak of Scott Mountain can be seen from Enka Lake. Enka Lake is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Man, is there heaps of amusing things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. A striking lake like Starnes Cove Lakes in close proximity to Enka Lake is a delightful place to go to, and if you came to camp Bear Creek RV Park and Campground is a good place to do that. You completely have to adore the Blue Ridge Mountains. Hit the slopes at Ski Beech close at hand, and you'll stumble on a lovely lake called Thrash Lake. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place.
