All the outdoors amusing stuff next to Elkin Reservoir will keep you coming back many times. Elkin Creek is a magnificent local stream, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Elkin Reservoir; Dogwood Trail is a wonderful local trail. Elkin Reservoir sees pretty high levels of precipitation; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January on the other hand       is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Jonesville-Days Inn Elkin; if you come at the right time of year, Mitchell River offers some great whitewater. But wait, there's more enjoyable things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There are some pleasant whitewater spots on Fisher River; naturally, this is a perfect area for people who like lakes, Jonesville Golf Course Lake is a lake close by. All through the long summer days at                  Elkin Reservoir highs are mostly in the 80's, and all through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. All through the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Elkin Reservoir. Nearby lakes? Sure, Cedarbrook Lake is near Elkin Reservoir, and you'll meet a lot of people from Mount Airy here. This lake is so wonderful. Cedar Lake Golf Course is a golf course next to Elkin Reservoir.
