There's no such thing as a bad day of skiing at nearby Wolf Laurel. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Echo Lake has to offer, you can camp at K O A Kampgrounds. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Echo Lake, you could also go to scenic Lake Evens; dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Black Mountain. That right there is loads of       amusing things already but it goes on, the Blue Ridge Mountains has it all. Cane Creek Gap is a delightful spot to take a look at near Echo Lake, and if you need a location to stay Super 8 Black Mountain is a wonderful choice. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Echo Lake; the night is a little colder of course, frequently in the 60's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 40's with temperatures at Echo Lake dipping                  down into the 20's throughout winter nights. What a site this is for outdoors folks. Black Knob can be distinguished from Echo Lake. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting things near Echo Lake. Playing golf is lots of fun at Black Mountain Town Golf Course, and Ponderosa Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out. This lake is so wonderful. Echo Lake Dam is a wonderful place in the vicinity of Echo Lake, and good skiing awaits you at Ski Beech. Echo Lake is one of the lakes here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Get your heart beating on the splendid whitewater of Swannanoa River, and why not take a little visit to Ellison Branch since you're here. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Blue Ridge Mountains. There's so much to do here at Echo Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sycamore Flats Family Campground is a fine site for that, and whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Rocky Broad River.
