High temperatures at Dumaines Lake through the summer are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures plunge down into the 60's. Daytime highs through the wintertime are in the 40's, and overnight lows through the winter for Dumaines Lake tend to be in the 20's. Whitewater paddling is perfect on North Mayo; you can stay the night at Dan River Campground. This lake is so wonderful.       If you're popping by Dumaines Lake from Martinsville, you won't be the only one, and paddling on Mayo River - North Fork is so much fun. There's so much to do here at Dumaines Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Indian Heritage RV Park is a tremendous spot for that; why not a little side trip to Little Matrimony Creek. After a long day outdoors Eden Days Inn is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two, and an afternoon playing golf at Ponderosa Golf Club                  is always a pleasure. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Econo Lodge Eden; there are other spots here than Dumaines Lake, for example Tuttles Lake. Dumaines Lake is a relatively wet place generally with lots of rainfall; through the month of July you get the most rain around here, and the driest month of the year is December. Having a fine time at Dumaines Lake is painless.
