Drum Pond is a nice lake to visit. Hog Island Reef is a magnificent place to look at, and a day at Sand Island is time well spent. If you came for an overnight stay Driftwood Campground is a nice location to camp, and if you're looking for a perfect spree, Cape Lookout National Seashore is rather near. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. This lake is so wonderful. Beaches are magnificent; and Old House Beach right next door to Drum Pond is no exception,

| | and why not stop by a swamp like Deep Slough if you're here at Drum Pond. Through the days of summer, highs regularly are in the 80's at Drum Pond. Summer nighttime lows fall down to the 60's. During the wintertime highs are commonly in the 50's, and nighttime lows through the wintertime for Drum Pond tend to be in the 30's.
