High temperatures at Doggett Lake all through the days of summer are in the 80's. Summer night lows plunge down to the 50's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 40's, and after the sun is down during the winter temperatures at Doggett Lake dip into the 20's. Utt's Campground is a tremendous local campground, and the Run Trail offers hiking at its best. So much fun stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains, not       enough time. Doggett Lake is a place with many visitors from Mount Airy; hey, Beech Creek is a great local stream. This lake is so wonderful. If you get bored of Doggett Lake, you could also pop by close by City Lake, and Fisher River is a tremendous whitewater spot close by. The high level of precipitation makes Doggett Lake a pretty wet place; throughout the month of May you get the most rain around here while January is mostly the driest month. Doggett                  Lake is one of the lakes here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. But wait, there's more to do in close proximity to Doggett Lake. Why not camp at Homeplace Recreational Park since you're here at Doggett Lake, and after a long day outdoors Quality Inn Mount Airy is a fine place to spend a night or two. Mt. Airy Knights Inn is a great location to get some rest; Doggett Lake Dam is not far at all from Doggett Lake. This lake is so wonderful. An afternoon playing golf at Pine Ridge Classic Golf Course & Driving Range is always a joy. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Dry Lake is a nearby lake that you could check out, and a delightful place for whitewater paddling is Ararat River.   Mt.
