nearby lake, and if you need a place to stay Hilton Garden Inn Roanoke Rapids / Carolina Crossroads is a great choice. Dickens Pond generally gets much precipitation; the month of August is the wettest with most of the rain, and April
meanwhile is the driest month. There's so much to do here at Dickens Pond that you need to camp here for a while, The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads is a good place for that, and in case you don’t have a problem getting dripping wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Roanoke River.
