If you are in Harnett county it's always a good idea to stop by Dewars Pond. There are other sites here than Dewars Pond, for example Buckhorn Lake, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Dewars Pond; West Loop Horse Trail is a brilliant local trail. This lake is so wonderful. Dewars Pond is fine enough to spend more than a day at, Dream Camps is a fine local campground. That right there is loads already, but it keeps on going; Dewars Pond has it all. You'll meet a lot of people from Dunn here, and Cape Fear has a fine whitewater paddling spot nearby. All the water falling down from the sky makes Dewars Pond a wet site; the wettest month of the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most, and September
on the other hand is the driest. This lake is so wonderful. If you don't mind getting covered with water, you can always go whitewater paddling on Buckhorn Creek, and after a long day outdoors Microtel Inn And Suites Lillington, NC
is a pleasant spot to spend a night or two. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Dewars Pond with overnight lows in the 60's. Through the winter highs are in the 40's while Dewars Pond nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 20's.
