You'll need more than a day to explore everything Dalton Pond has to offer, you can camp at Sunset Park Campground. If only every place had this much outdoors fun stuff, what a great planet it would be. Looking for something near Dalton Pond? Jones Pond is in the vicinity, and Days Inn Winston Salem North is a perfect spot to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to       do here at Dalton Pond that you need to camp here for a while, Tanglewood Family Resort is a great site for that, and why not take a refreshing hike along the Cooks Wall Trail. Looking for some flowing water? Try Fivemile Branch, and if you come at the right time of year, Dan River offers some great whitewater. Through the summer months, highs commonly are in the 80's at Dalton Pond, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. For the period of the                  wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's; throughout the dark hours in the wintertime at Dalton Pond temperatures descend to the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Grubbs Lake Dam is a place that is near Dalton Pond, and do take a hike on the Cascade Trail. Near Dalton Pond you discover a golf course called Reynolds Park Golf Course. Glide down the rapids of Dan River in a kayak, and Dalton Pond is right by the Hanging Rock Trail. Here at Dalton Pond there are plenty of people from Winston-Salem, and a good close by hotel is Quality Inn Coliseum.
