An attention-grabbing thing to check out near Currin Lake is Currin Lake Dam, and if you need a place to stay Wellons Gateway Inn is a tremendous choice. This lake is so wonderful. There are some nice whitewater spots on Upper Little River, and if the weather is magnificent, you can go for a hike along the Group Camp Trail. Why not camp at Lazy Acres if you're here at Currin Lake, and there is a good hiking trail close by called the Little Creek Loop Trail. Barnes Lake is a nearby lake that you could explore; dry warm beds await you at Value Place Fayetteville BR. A lot of precipitation falls at Currin Lake; July is the wettest month with most rain, and November is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. | |

Do have a look at Holmes Pond near Currin Lake, it's a stunning lake. The American Beech Trail is a brilliant hiking trail near Currin Lake, and if you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Fayetteville. Throughout
the summertime months here at Currin Lake, high temperatures frequently get into the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 60's. All through the winter this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Currin Lake.

 | Smith lake is a nice place to camp, bike ride and swim. I have 3 young children and they had a BLAST! We plan on going again very soon. Bathrooms were clean and out of some of the campsites I've been to this is the one I like....Nice area for hiking, running, mt biking. Also nice beach area for the summer.... |
McFadyen Lake
 | 11 miles away I can be reached at, yellowcheeks2001@yahoo. We just bought a boat and don't know of any good size lakes to go to. If you know of a good spot, let me know....Good Lake for canoeing, but you have to stay near the creeks or geat a membership for 120 or so.... |

Guys Pond
 | 19 miles away Guy's Pond is a great place to fish. As of my latest fishing trip on 1/25/2009, it was $3 per person and $4 per night camping. Also, 14 years of age and younger were free! This is a great pond. While you are fishing, you can watch the cows, and/or the horses. The pond is much better than Pope's Lake. They kicked us out of that lake on the same day as my trip to Guy's Pond. I rate this pond as a 10 and suggest anyone in the area looking for a fishing hole should try Guy's Pond.... |
