Hiking along the Dam Site Loop Trail is tremendous fun; dry warm beds await you at Motel 6. Having a wonderful time at Crawleys Pond is painless. Crawleys Pond is great enough to spend more than       a day at, Cattail Creek Campground is a great local campground. Crawleys Pond is a quite wet place regularly with a large amount of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Going for a hike along the Summit Loop Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty                  of this area, and Roanoke River is a perfect whitewater spot nearby. At Crawleys Pond throughout the summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 60's.
