All the water falling down from the sky makes Cox Lake a wet spot; May is the month that gets the most rain while January is frequently the driest month. What a place this is for outdoors people. Here at Cox Lake there are plenty of folks from Mount Airy, and while you're here, you could also stop by beautiful Pell Lake. This lake is so wonderful. If you came to camp Homeplace Recreational       Park is a wonderful location to do that; needless to say Bull Creek flows through this area. This lake is so wonderful. Near Cox Lake you find the Cooks Wall Trail which is a tremendous hiking trail. Quality Inn & Suites is a glorious place to get some rest, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Ararat River. If you come at the right time of year, Yadkin River offers some great whitewater, and you'll hit upon a stunning lake called Loves Lake. There's                  so much to do here at Cox Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Pioneer Village Family Campground is a good spot for that, and the Run Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. High temperatures at Cox Lake all through the summertime months are in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 50's. Throughout the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 20's overnight here at Cox Lake. There is a wonderful hiking trail close to Cox Lake called the Moores Knob Trail; after a long day outdoors Microtel Suites Mt.
