Corwells Millpond is splendid enough to spend more than a day at, The RV Resort at Carolina Crossroads is a splendid local campground; a wonderful close by hotel is Best Western Roanoke Rapids.       This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Roanoke River close to Corwells Millpond, and after a long day outdoors Red Carpet Inn Emporia is a great site to spend a night or two. The high level of rainfall makes Corwells Millpond a rather wet spot; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is April. During the summer months at Corwells Millpond temperatures are frequently in the 80's while nighttime lows are ordinarily                  in the 60's.
