Many people like to go to Cone Lake. Appalachian Mountain is a very popular ski area in close proximity, and Cone Lake is a tremendous place to visit for more than one day, Camp Sky Ranch is a tremendous place to camp nearby. These mountains rock, just look at all the fun things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. A pleasant location next to Cone Lake is Sandy Flat Gap; there are some pleasant whitewater spots on Thunderhole Creek.

| | can do here at Cone Lake. If you're visiting Cone Lake from Boone, you won't be the only one, and Blowing Rock Victorian Inn B&B is a tremendous location to get some rest. Yep, outdoors exciting stuff truly is abundant here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Lakes are such calm locations, why not pop by Heart Lake close to Cone Lake, and Hawksnest has good slopes and a friendly staff. 70's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with temperatures at Cone Lake dipping down into the 10's all through winter nights.
This lake is located in the wonderful Blue
Ridge Mountains. Cone Lake is a wet spot that gets much precipitation; May is the month that gets the most rain, and the driest month of the year is December. If you want a tremendous time in the great outdoors just come on up to
the Blue Ridge Mountains. You'll need more than a day to explore everything Cone Lake has to offer, you can camp at Honey Bear Campground, and there are other places here than Cone Lake, for example Bass Lake.
That right there
is a load already, but it continues; Cone Lake has it all. A perfect nearby hotel is Ridgeway Inn, and obviously Flat Top Branch flows through this region. This lake is so wonderful. If the weather is good here at Cone Lake, you can
go for a hike along the Yancey Ridge Trail; whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then, we recommend Boone Fork. This lake is so wonderful. Flat Top Mountain can be distinguished from Cone Lake, and why not visit
Cone Lake Dam while you're here.
A golf course right next door to Cone Lake is Boone Golf Club, and going for a hike along the Daniel Boone Scout Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area.
