Take a look at close by Colington Creek, and Colony Lake is good enough to spend more than a day at, Adventure Bound Campground is a good local campground. Colony Lake really is in the middle of a                  pretty outdoors paradise. Golf can be played at Sea Scape Golf Links, and if you have time, Cape Hatteras National Seashore is a national park worth going to. While you're here at Colony Lake you will meet lots of people from close by Kill Devil Hills. High temperatures at Colony Lake during the summer are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows dip down to the 70's.
