There's always Coley Pond Dam to take a look at next to Coley Pond, and going for a hike on the Bluff Loop Trail is always a great adventure. Coley Pond gets much water; August is the month that gets the most rain, and April is when it's the driest. Getting to Pig Basket Creek from Coley Pond is simple; if you come at the right time of year, Tar River offers some great whitewater. High temperatures at Coley       Pond through the warmest time of the year are in the 80's, and all through the night it cools down to the 60's. Highs during the wintertime are regularly in the 40's while Coley Pond overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 20's. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Stream Loop Trail, and dry warm beds await you at Comfort Inn Rocky Mount. So many fun things to do here at Coley Pond, too great to be true.
