Many people like to go to City Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Blue Ridge Mountains. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. After a long day outdoors Quality Inn Mount Airy is a nice location to spend a night or two. But wait, there's more entertaining stuff to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. A glorious close by hotel is Mt. Airy Knights Inn, and not far from City Lake you'll find Greenhill Lake which is a delightful lake.

a delightful time in the great outdoors, just come on down to City Lake. Drift down the rapids of Ararat River in a kayak, and Rocky Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting. Get yourself into a kayak
and hit Fisher River, and Utt's Campground is a delightful local campground. If you came for an overnight stay Homeplace Recreational Park is a brilliant place to camp, and at City Lake you always meet someone from Mount Airy. City
Lake commonly gets a lot of rain; all through the month of May you get the most rain around here; January is the month with the least moisture.

Carrollwood Campground
 | 18 miles away My family and I stopped at Carrollwood Campground for a weekend while traveling back home after spending the winter in FL. The owners were extremely friendly - John and Jenny. They even walked us to our site and helped us with the hook-ups. The fishing lakes are filled with many big fish. While we were there, a fisherman caught a catfish that weighed in at 32 lbs! The atmosphere is very peaceful and the grounds are kept neat. It's truly a beautiful place to visit! Thanks John and Jenny for a wonderful trip!... |
