Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. There's some flowing water nearby, Rocky Creek is a stream you can go to while you're here, and camping at City Lake is brilliant fun, Fox Trail Campground is a brilliant local campground. If you fancy the outdoors you'll fancy it here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Through the days of summer highs here at City Lake reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into       the 50's. For the period of the wintertime highs are mostly in the 40's, and overnight lows at City Lake through the wintertime typically fall into the 20's. If you come at the right time of year, Fisher River offers some good whitewater, and dry warm beds await you at Quality Inn Mount Airy. City Lake is a pretty wet place ordinarily with a large amount of rainfall; all through the month of May you get the most rain around here; January is the month with                  the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Utt's Campground if you're here at City Lake; you'll discover a scenic lake called Dry Lake. City Lake is right by the Run Trail; drift down the rapids of Ararat River in a kayak. You'll really wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the enjoyable things in the Blue Ridge Mountains. During your spree to City Lake you'll meet some people from Mount Airy for sure, and if you need a spot to stay Mt. Airy Knights Inn is a glorious choice.
