City Lake is a nice lake to visit. But wait, there's more exciting things to do in the Blue Ridge Mountains. City Lake is not far at all from Mount Airy, and if you're looking for some flowing water? Try Rocky Creek. Looking for something in the neighborhood of City Lake? Greenhill Lake is in the neighborhood; fine hiking is available along the Run Trail. For the duration of the months of summer highs here at City Lake get into the 80's. Through the dark

| | hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 50's. During the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's while the cold winter nights at City Lake are in the 20's.

camp Utt's Campground is a nice place to do that. If you need a place to stay Mt. Airy Knights Inn is a splendid choice. There's so much to do here at City Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Homeplace Recreational Park is
a great place for that.
Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Blue Ridge Mountains. Whitewater paddling is nice on Fisher River. This lake is one of the great places here in the Blue Ridge Mountains. City Lake sees pretty high levels of rain; the month with most of the rain is May, and the driest month of the year is January.
