Do stop by Chetola Lake while you're in this part of North Carolina. This lake is so wonderful. Boone Golf Club is a golf course near Chetola Lake; don't forget to take a splendid little visit to Aho Branch. Chetola Lake gets lots of water; May is when you get the most rain here while December is commonly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. | | is a great location to do that. There is a splendid hiking trail close to Chetola Lake called the Yancey Ridge Trail, and get your heart pumping on the delightful whitewater of Boone Fork. Retreat is a magnificent local campground. But wait, there's more to do near Chetola Lake. On a glorious day at Chetola Lake you can take a hike along the Daniel Boone Scout Trail. Everybody nearby loves skiing at Hawksnest, and
you'll meet a lot of folks from Boone here. For the period of the long summer days at Chetola Lake temperatures are typically in the 70's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 50's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's while Chetola Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the 10's.
