You could also pop by Hendricks Lake since you're here at Cedar Lake; it's close by; Kings Mountain State Park is a fine local campground. Looking for something near Cedar Lake? Kennedy Lake is nearby; do visit Little Buffalo Creek while you're here at Cedar Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Why not camp at Caretakers Cottage if you're here at Cedar Lake, and if you're a golfer then a good nearby course is Pine Grove Golf       Club. In case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on Kings Branch, and dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Shelby@Hwy 74, Nc. Not sufficient hours in a day to enjoy this place. Catawba River - South Fork has a great whitewater paddling spot close by, and at Cedar Lake Dam near Cedar Lake there are some attention-grabbing things to see. Cedar Lake is not far at all from Shelby; if you need a place to stay                  Value Place Shelby is a tremendous choice. This lake is so wonderful. The high level of precipitation makes Cedar Lake a rather wet place; the wettest month of the year is usually May, that's the one that rains the most, and the driest month of the year is April. For the period of the summer highs here at Cedar Lake get into the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's.
