This lake is so wonderful. Canvasback Pond is great enough to spend more than a day at, Currituck Resort Shores is a great local campground, and a day at Currituck Beach is time well spent. Canvasback Pond is a wet place that gets a good deal of rain; August is when you get the most rain here while April is the month with the least amount of precipitation. If you're here at Canvasback       Pond, do take a spree to Brant Island Pond, and lakes are such peaceful spots, why not check out Northeast Pond. Near Canvasback Pond you find the Jeep Trail which is a glorious hiking trail; the peak of Three Dunes can be distinguished from Canvasback Pond.
