Why not have a look at Camp Keyauwee Lake Dam if you're here, and Deep River is a delightful whitewater spot close by. For the duration of the warmest time of the year highs here at Camp Keyauwee Lake get into the 90's, and the overnight is slightly cooler of course, commonly in the 60's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 20's to Camp Keyauwee Lake. If only every place had this much outdoors entertaining

There's so much to do here at Camp Keyauwee Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Holly Bluff Family Campground is a good spot for that, and after a long day outdoors Comfort Inn Archdale is a nice place to spend a night or two. Camp Keyauwee Lake is magnificent enough to spend more than a day at, Banjo Creek RV Resort & Campground is a magnificent local campground, and the Birkhead Trail is a great hiking trail nearby. | |

A tremendous nearby hotel is INNKEEPER High Point, and a lake close by is Beard Lake. This lake is so wonderful. For you golfers we recommend close by Holly Ridge Golf Links, and Wesleyan Youth Camp Lake is a nearby lake that you
could visit. You'll meet a lot of people from Lexington-Thomasville here. Camp Keyauwee Lake is a wet site that gets a great deal of precipitation; of all the months in a year June is the one with the most rain, and April meanwhile is the driest month.

Deep River
 | 17 miles away My wife and I decided to give this route a try, and we found that a couple of miles down river from the put-in site, there is a big dam that is at least 20 feet tall with no way around it. We ended up walking 2 miles back to the car to come pick up our kayaks. When we got home we looked at satellite pictures using google maps and it looks like there are 2 more dams before you would reach the take out site. I do NOT recommend this route. Paddlers beware!... |
