There's so much to do here at Camp Hanes Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Serenity Stables and Campground is a brilliant location for that, and Quality Inn & Suites is a fine place to get some rest. A lake nearby is Kiser Lake; do stop at Camp Hanes Dam since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. If you come at the right time of year, Big Creek offers some great whitewater, and if you came       to camp Moores Springs Campground on the Dan River is a wonderful place to do that. Camp Hanes Lake beyond doubt is in the middle of a pretty outdoors paradise. If you're stopping by Camp Hanes Lake from Winston-Salem, you won't be the only one, and there's glorious hiking along the Cascade Trail. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Dan River; you can go for a hike on the Moores Knob Trail. This lake is so wonderful.                  You could also explore Little Yadkin Watershed Lake Six while you're here at Camp Hanes Lake; it's close by, and if the weather is pretty, you obtain a good panorama of Sauratown Mountain from Camp Hanes Lake. If you need a place to stay Econo Lodge King is a perfect choice, and don't leave Camp Hanes Lake without first going for a hike along the Cooks Wall Trail. Camp Hanes Lake is a rather wet place regularly with a lot of rainfall; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain, and November is the month with the least moisture.
