Why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Goose Creek Golf & Country Club, and camping at North River Campground is always a glorious experience. Swamps like Big Narrows in close proximity to Big Pond make for perfect locations to have a look at, and the Jeep Trail offers hiking at its best. Why not have a look at Cattle Pen Point also since you're here; Big Pond is wonderful       enough to spend more than a day at, Currituck Resort Shores is a wonderful local campground. A journey to Gallop Shoal is always fun; a good close by hotel is Hampton Inn & Suites Outer Banks-Corolla. You just can't picture the amount of outdoors amusing things the area right next door to Big Pond has to offer. After a long day outdoors The Sanderling Resort and Spa is a perfect site to spend a night or two. Big Pond gets a great deal of water; most of the                  rain falls through July, and November is when it's the driest. Summertime brings highs in the 80's to Big Pond, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's.
