     Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend Buckhorn Creek; the Group Camp Trail offers hiking at its best. A common amount of rain falls here at Bells Lake; of all the months in a year August is the one with the most rain, and April is the month with the least moisture. And that's not all you can do here at Bells Lake. Woodys Lake is a nearby lake that you could take a look at, and Oakwood at the Park Apartments is a wonderful
   place to get some rest. Summer brings highs in the 80's to Bells Lake. Summer night lows dip down to the 60's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's while Bells Lake nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the 20's.
During your tour to Bells Lake you'll meet some people from Raleigh-Cary for sure, and Dream Camps is a delightful campground nearby. While you're here at Bells Lake, you could also stop at scenic McCullers Pond;

               Bells Lake is a fine location to visit for more than one day, Champion Cheerleading Camps is a fine location to camp nearby. If you come at the right time of year, Cape Fear offers some fine whitewater, and there's great hiking along the West Loop Horse Trail.
This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Oakwood at Windsor at Tryon Village, and don't leave Bells Lake without first going for a hike along the East Loop Horse Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Playing golf is lots of fun at Crooked Creek Golf Club.

Broadreach Summer Adventures
...t lessons applicable to life that will last long after the program is over. Opportunities are created not only by our course design, but by the group itself. Staff and students come together as a team to make the adventure happen. Our staff gives participants individual attention and helps to shape the trip around the goals and abilities of the group. In a small group, you can relax and be yourself. The supportive, non-competitive atmosphere created allows participants to appreciate others for who they are and make close friendships with people who have diverse interests and backgrounds.

Broadreachers do things they never thought they would do, see places they never thought they would see and explore our world on a level they never could with their family or on their own. Guys Pond
10 miles away
Guy's Pond is a great place to fish.  As of my latest fishing trip on 1/25/2009, it was $3 per person and $4 per night camping.  Also, 14 years of age and younger were free!  This is a great pond.  While you are fishing, you can watch the cows, and/or the horses.  The pond is much better than Pope's Lake.  They kicked us out of that lake on the same day as my trip to Guy's Pond.  I rate this pond as a 10 and suggest anyone in the area looking for a fishing hole should try Guy's Pond....

Beaverdam Lake
16 miles away
Beaverdam Lake is really a part of Falls Lake. It is approximately fifteen minutes north of the I-540 beltway on Highway 50. Beaverdam Lake is separated from the main lake by a partial dam and bridge. It is approximately 500 acres in size.

Beaverdam Lake is restricted; no gasoline engines are allowed. This makes it a great place for kayaks, canoes, sailboats and electric-motor propelled boats. It has a very nice concrete boat ramp and adjacent dock, and has a very large parking lot. Adjacent to the boat launching ramp is a nice sand beach with floats delineating the swimming area and a small pavilion.
