At Bellamys Lake Dam near Bellamys Lake there are some attention-grabbing things to see; Beaverdam Swamp is one of the streams close by that might be worth a visit. Going for a hike on the Dam Site Loop Trail is always a good adventure; why not spend some time golfing at a nearby golf course like Hickory Meadows Golf Course. The wonderful folks of Rocky Mount like to hang out nearby, and dry warm beds await       you at Howard Johnson Inn. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Discovery Loop Trail, and get your heart pumping on the perfect whitewater of Roanoke River. Bellamys Lake sees pretty high levels of precipitation; most of the rain falls throughout August, and the driest month is April. Summertime highs at Bellamys Lake mostly tend to be in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. Highs during the winter are generally in the                  40's, and night lows in the 20's for Bellamys Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Quality Inn Battleboro is a nice location to get some rest. There is a pleasant hiking trail close to Bellamys Lake called the Summit Loop Trail, and you can stay the night at KOA Campgrounds. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this site. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Tar River. There's so much to do here at Bellamys Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Enfield/Rocky Mount KOA is a splendid place for that.   Quality Inn Battleboro, Battleboro 7 miles away Half way between New York and Florida.
